The continent of Assail was situated between Genabackis and the Letherii continent. It was held to be the most dangerous and hostile part of the Malazan world. The Crimson Guard mercenaries and some T'lan Imass were known to have engagements there. The Malazans knew of the existence of Assail and the Wreckers' Coast along its shores,[1] but the Empire had chosen to make no incursions there due
Imperial Warren) in order to let Jacuruku In Gardens of the Moon when the freed Jaghut tyrant is trapped inside Kruppe's dream and despite his immense power can't do about this, he asks "What kind of game is it?". He originated during the time of K'rul, Draconus and Nightchill. He is partly responsible for the Crippled God and I find that ironic because of events later on in the series. About Kallor Does anyone else want to to see a separate series/prequel about High King and how he got so powerful even though he is neither a Mage nor an Ascendant? Kallor boasted he had destroyed them all and made worlds lifeless.

Kallor is actually my favorite character in Malazan, he is a tragic figure & well incredibly human with all the faults that entails. He is not without a certain twisted nobility & you can see a certain sense of perverse justice every once in a while.
